ICL welcomes Bangladesh players

The six players who come from Bangladesh bring a whiff of fresh air to the ICL's campaign. They have strengthened our resolve to provide better facilities and opportunities to those who have been denied. And this number is only increasing and it is time the ICC and the BCCI took notice of it.

Support for ICL would only mean support to cricketers because we are only concentrating on creating the infrastructure and competitions for young players. We are not competing with the IPL or the BCCI. We have our targets and have set benchmarks in terms of quality entertainment. By denying us the authorities in turn are only denying the young players.

The ICC and the BCCI have shut their doors on us but we have kept our doors open for all. The second season of the ICL opens in October and the preparations are already on. We have started a camp at Bangalore for the domestic players while the main coaches and the foreign players will assembled on October 1. In Ahmedabad, we have a new venue this time in addition to Chandigarh, Delhi and Hyderabad. We will have Chennai and Bangalore too in the future.

I am also happy to read that the Australians have given the green signal to their tour of India. There is no doubt that an India-Pakistan or an Ashes series does not engage the attention of the cricket world as much as the India-Australia series. It is the series to look forward to. I am sure we will get to watch cricket of the highest quality because nothing is bigger in contemporary cricket than India meeting Australia in any form of the game.
