That is it from us for tonight. Another disappointing day, with the first game being a real one-sider while rain took its toll in the second. Tomorrow is another double-header at Cape Town, which sees Sydney Sixers play the Highveld Lions at 1130 GMT (1700 IST) followed by the Yorkshire-Mumbai clash at 1530 GMT (2100 IST). Hope that the rain stays away and looking forward for your company tomorrow. On behalf of the commentators and scorers, Adios! Take Care!
The standings now see Titans on top with 8 points, Delhi on second with 4, Auckland on third with 4 as well and Kolkata and Perth 4th and 5th respectively with 2 points apiece. Perth next meet Delhi at Cape Town on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 1130 GMT (1700 IST) while Kolkata play their last match of the tournament against the Titans on the same day at the same venue, a bit later in the day, at 1530 GMT (2100 IST). Perth need to win both their games by a big margin while Kolkata will aim to end the tournament on a high.
And the inevitable has been confirmed. PLAY HAS BEEN CALLED OFF and it means that Kolkata have been knocked out of the CLT20 2012 and Perth are on the verge of following them, unless until they can pull off some big wins in their next two games. Hard luck for all cricket fans and above all, for the teams playing.
Update - 1900 local (1700 GMT) Looks like the ground has passed through the worst part of rain. Thundershowers have stormed through the arena and rendered most of the playing area damp. In fact, one can even see puddles on the field. However, the good news is that the rain has lowered its intensity, though, it is still drizzling. Lots and lots of wet patches on the field to be mopped up. But for starters, the rain has to stop. Stay tuned for updates...
