Commentary (Mumbai Indians innings)

That's it from us for this game. But the Hyderabad-Kolkata game is right up on our heels. Do tune in for that game.

SHAUN MARSH HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Says that it is nice to get a win and credits the bowlers for setting the win, as at one stage, they were staring at 180-190. Adds that he has been in good form this season and just wanted to bat till the end. Also says that he was not too perturbed with David Hussey's dismissal and backed himself to clear the ropes. Admits that his team desperately needed to win this game and did not want to have 2 wins and 5 losses.

The two captains come together for a chat. David Hussey says that it was a terrific performance and the fielding really set the tone. Feels that the stadium was very loud and all the guys wanted to put on a good show. On getting informed about their record against Mumbai, he hopes to meet them every week! Praises Shaun Marsh for his wonderful knock. Harbhajan Singh admits that fielding was the difference between the two sides. While they fielded brilliantly, his team was not at its best. Feels that the track was brilliant. Wants to sit down and assess today's match, get some runs from the middle order batsmen and then improve the fielding for the next game.

1.MAXIMUM SIXES AWARD - JAMES FRANKLIN. 2.BEST CATCH OF THE MATCH AWARD - MANDEEP SINGH.

Marsh top scored with an unbeaten 68 while Pollard was the pick of the bowlers with 2/14 in 4 overs. By virtue of this win, this is how these two teams stand in the points table - 6.MUMBAI - 6 POINTS FROM 6 MATCHES. 7.MOHALI - 6 POINTS FROM 7 MATCHES.

After the bowlers did well to restrict Mumbai to 163, Mohali batsmen started off nicely, adding 48 for the opening wicket. They lost a couple of quick wickets after that but Marsh and Hussey kept them in the hunt. However, Mumbai came back towards the end, nipping out Hussey and Mahmood but Marsh kept his cool in the end, steering his team to a victory in the final over.

The Mohali dug out is ecstatic. They have been under the cosh for a few games now and have managed to pull off a stunning heist. THIS IS THE 6TH TIME THAT MOHALI HAVE BEATEN MUMBAI IN THIS LEAGUE IN 9 MEETINGS!

19.3 T Perera to D Miller, THAT IS THE GAME! Low full toss on middle, 131.5 kph, Miller backs away and drives this wide of mid off. The ball nearly reaches the fence but Rohit Sharma hauls it back in. The batsmen have already completed the second. Miller punches the air with his fists. MOHALI WIN BY 6 WICKETS! 164/4

19.2 T Perera to S Marsh, Full and almost in the blockhole, pushed wide of mid off for a single. 2 needed from 4! 162/4

19.1 T Perera to S Marsh, SIX! That's beautifully struck! Low full toss wide outside off, 132.9 kph, Marsh reaches out for it, his bottom hand comes off the bat and it flies over a leaping Rayudu at deep point! Marsh is pumped up and so is Hussey. Is that the winning hit? 3 needed from 5! 161/4

Parvinder Awana was the pick of the bowlers again with 2/23 in 4 overs. Franklin was brilliant at the top while Karthik and Tendulkar got starts. The rest were just blown away. 163 is still a good score and Mohali will have to bat well to chase it down but they would be happy with their effort in the death overs. Stay tuned....

Then came phase 2, which saw Franklin and Karthik hammer the ball to all parts and at that stage, even 190 looked likely. But then, a miscommunication lead to the wicket of Karthik and after that, the hosts lost their way. Just 34/4 in the last 5 overs tells you the story.

Good finish by Mohali. They started off well, in spite of the good opening stand and did not allow the batsmen to score freely. That led to a couple of quick wickets and Mumbai were in a it of bother at 56/2 in the 10th over.

TOSS - David Hussey calls incorrectly and MUMBAI WILL BAT. Harbhajan says that it is nice to bat and hopes to put up a nice performance and get a good total on the board and then try to restrict Mohali. Informs that Sachin is back, Franklin is playing and Thisara Perera, the Sri Lankan all-rounder, is playing as well. David Hussey says that this is a great atmosphere and is looking to get 2 points on the board. Admits that he would have batted first as well, as the pitch could turn in the second innings. Hopes to restrict Mumbai to a small total. Informs that Siddharth Chitnis comes in and he is from Mumbai, so is looking to use his local knowledge. Bhargav Bhatt comes in as well.

Now David Hussey gets the chance to speak to Sunil Gavaskar. Hussey says that he is very happy to take that catch of Gayle and happy that it stuck. Admits that they should have won that game against Bangalore as his team played well and hopes that they get the critical moments well today. On Gilchrist, he says that he is feeling better and should be fit for the next game.

Harbhajan Singh is having a chat with Ravi Shastri. Bhajji says that his team needs to rectify some mistakes from the last game. Fresh day, fresh start. Feels that these breaks are good but from now on they have continuous 10 days of cricket. Hopes that they will travel safe and play well. Feels that during the day, the wicket will not change much as there won't be any dew and should be good.

The tournament has opened up nicely courtesy some wins for the teams at the bottom of the table and today, ironically, it is a game between number 6 and number 8! Actually, Mumbai have slipped down to number 6 because they have not been playing for the last 5 days and teams below them have won and gone on top. Mohali need a better display today and desperately need a win as well, else they could start slipping out of the reckoning of winning the league.
