Commentary (South Africa innings)

That's it from us today. The next match will be on Sunday, 23rd Dec 2012 at East London. Live coverage will begin from 1600 GMT | 2130 IST. We hope for a better and improved performance by the Kiwis in the second match.

Rory Kleinveldt is the Man of the Match for his match figures of 3/18. This is his first ever MoM in international cricket.

The Kiwis got the wicket of Levi early but that was just a small happiness for them. Faf du Plessis led from the front again and the hosts romped home easily.

The bowlers set up the show, with Kleinveldt taking 3 and Steyn, Morris and Peterson taking 2 apiece. Only three batsmen from the Kiwi side managed to reach double figures which shows how poor the batting was in general.

A comprehensive win for the Proteas. A no-contest match, one between two inexperienced sides and the Proteas proved that they have got a much better one than their counterparts. Really, is this is the future crop of the Kiwis, they definitely need some rain.

Commentary (New Zealand innings)

This should be an easy run chase for the South Africans. They will try to come in and finish the game as early as possible. It's a nice opportunity for R.Levi and the debutant H.Davids to score some easy runs as run-rate won't be an issue in this run chase.

The Kiwis were bundled out for 86. It was a disappointed effort by the visitors, not an ideal way to kick-off a long series. Debutant Murno(23) was the top scorer for the Kiwis. For the Proteas, Klienveldt picked up 3 wickets. While Steyn, Morris and Peterson picked 2 wickets each.

18.2 R Kleinveldt to M McClenaghan, OUT! Short ball, tries to pull, but mistimes it to the mid on fielder. That's the end of the New Zealand innings and also an end to a poor display of batting by the Kiwis. 86/10
