Following Dr Nasim Ashraf's resignation, the new PCB chairman is yet to be appointed by new President Asif Ali Zardari, who also happens to be the PCB's Chief Patron.

"The sports minister has now been holding the chairman's power and will represent the PCB at the next month ICC meeting. The ICC has been communicated about it," Naghmi added.

The ICC is hosting the Board Members' meeting in Dubai on October 14-15 and ICC President David Morgan is likely to discuss about the rivalry between the ICL (Indian Cricket League) and IPL (Indian Premier League).

In his long political career spanning over three decades, 54-year-old Najmuddin Khan has been an active political worker from a young age.

Surprsingly few former Test cricketers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Rameez Raja and Waqar Younis — who were invited by the federal minister to discuss about the game in the country — did not turn up.

Only Majid Khan, Zaheer Abbas and another former cricketer went to meet the minister.
