Zaheer Khan (4-19) became the third Indian bowler to claim four wickets in match after RP Singh (4-13 v South Africa at Durban in 2007-08) and Pragyan Ojha (4-21 v Bangladesh at Nottingham in this tournament).

Zaheer’s figures are also the best by any bowler against Ireland, expunging IH Romaine’s 2-2 for Bermuda at Belfast in 2008.

Rohit Sharma (52*) made his highest score in the Twenty20 Internationals, beating his previous best of 50* against South Africa at Durban in 2007-08.

Sharma’s innings is also the highest by any batsman against Ireland, surpassing Bangladesh’s Mashrafe Mortaza’s unbeaten 33 at Nottingham in this World Cup.

By winning this match by 8 wickets India registered their biggest win in T20 Internationals (in terms of wickets). India had beaten Australia by 7 wickets at Mumbai (Brabourne) in 2007-08.

Zaheer Khan won his maiden Man of the Match award.
