Hyderabad: Was it the right time for Sourav Ganguly to retire? Renowned numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi says Ganguly would have shot to more fame had he continued playing the game for one more year.

Born on July 8, 1972, Sourav is Number 8 in numerology. Number 8 is ruled by Saturn, Numbers 2 and 7 (Cancer – ruling planet Moon and Neptune) and Numbers 2 and 7 again (8+7+1+9+7+2=34=3+4=7).

"Currently in his 37th year (3+7=10=1+0=1), Sourav is going through his finest period and the decision to quit is a bit of an early decision," said Bhavikk.

"Although it is wise for an actor, politician or a sportsman to retire while doing well, in the case of Sourav Ganguly, playing at least for another year or so would have rose him to much greater success," added Bhavikk.

"The year 2009 (2+0+0+9=11=1+1=2) which adds up to Number 2 is one of Sourav's best numbers and it would have definitely helped him elevate his career further. Even 2010 (2+0+1+0=3) would have been a 'financially' rewarding year since Number 3 (Jupiter – the planet of wealth) is also one of his strongest numbers," Bhavikk said further.

But now that he has taken a decision, what must be an 'alternate profession' for the former captain?

"Well, being ruled by Numbers 2 and 7 (Moon and Neptune) twice, it makes Sourav a highly creative person and therefore he should continue working off the field as an administrator of the game and developing new 'tactics' which can be of some great help to the youngsters," suggested Bhavikk.

"I would strongly recommend him to immediately wear a Cat's Eye above four carats set in silver to be worn on a Thursday midnight to ward off negativity and evil eye from people he is surrounded with," advised Bhavikk.
