The most important weapon in Ricky Ponting's arsenal over the Border-Gavaskar series will be Brett Lee. The fast bowler is fit and ready to go, and feels the time spent getting used to the conditions will come in handy when the matches begin.
Roma Khanna: With Greg Chappell around, what sort of inputs has he given to the team about playing in India?
Brett Lee: He has been brilliant. The knowledge that he has given us not only about the Indian players but also about the way India works. And guys who haven't spent a lot of time here in India have been listening to Greg about the way everything happens here so what they should expect. So his knowledge has been brilliant. I think he's going to be a massive help for us.
Roma Khanna: A lot of former Australian cricketers have said when you tour India, it's not just the cricketing aspect but you also need to be mentally and emotionally focussed. What is it like for you at this point in time?
Brett Lee: That's definitely spot on, because we aren't just playing cricket. We are in the media; you can see in the grounds how many media are here. It's brilliant because everyone's so excited about this series coming up.
You hear about Australia playing in the Ashes. But I think the home of cricket right now is India, and Australia versus India is definitely where it's at.
Everyone's very excited about the first Test. There has been a lot built up already. I'm sure with a few days to go, the 8th of October is going to be a very special day and we hope that we put on good entertainment for the crowd.
