Indian cricket is facing its biggest crisis in recent memory and dirty linen is being washed in public every day. In an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN, former West Indies captain Sir Viv Richards has urged the main players in the drama to leave their differences behind. Sir Viv also rubbished claims that Sachin Tendulkar is past his best and should quit.

Viv Richards: In teams, we say 'we'. And that, to me, gives you a better understanding how collectively you are working. Because when you do well, it is 'we'. But sometime when you do badly, it is the 'I's'. Let us keep it 'we's'. It is important for team camaraderie, it is important for the nature of the team, and how they move forward.

Nishant Arora: You have known these cricketers for a long time. Someone like Sachin Tendulkar, someone like Rahul Dravid, someone like Sourav Ganguly. Do you think they can act in a way where they will harm their juniors or they will not encourage their juniors to grow?

Viv Richards: I can only speak for Sachin because he is the one that I have been close to and he is the one that I have a lot of respect for in that sense. I don't think Sachin is of that nature at all. I don't think he is an individual who is disruptive. That's the last thing that comes across in my mind about Sachin Tendulkar.

There is so much pressure put on Sachin and it's not just maybe on the field but off it as well. He is human, people must remember that and he can crack and break like everyone else. He bleeds like everyone else. But some of the criticism I believe is very, very unfair. I believe that Sachin would have done so much for Indian cricket.

I just feel that he is not settled in his mind to do the job as you would like him to. If Sachin Tendulkar, and this is only my belief, if he is 35 years of age or if he is 33 or 34, still in my opinion as a batsman there is quite a lot for him to achieve and fulfil.
