Port of Spain: The contrast couldn't have been starker. Sachin Tendulkar in perhaps his last World Cup. Virender Sehwag in a battle to salvage a tattered reputation. Two key men in the lung-opener, the game plan is in place but for now the skipper is keeping it under wraps.
"We have actually decided on what we are going to play but we would just like the opposition maybe spend a little more time in their team meeting and discuss 15 names rather than discussing 11 or 12 names," said Dravid.
The buzz is that six batsmen, four bowlers and a keeper will make up the eleven that means Irfan Pathan is likely to sit out and Robin Uthappa will get a go but whatever the combination, Dravid believes he has the personnel to do the job.
"I think the good thing about us is that we have got a bit of flexibility in this team, in the sense that we have got quality in all the departments and we can adapt and play according to what the wickets is like and what the opposition is like," assured Dravid.
Over the last couple of years, Bangladesh have notched up wins over Australia, India and Sri Lanka and warmed up for the World Cup by beating New Zealand. This is a team that believes its now good enough to mix it with the big boys.
The Bangladesh Skipper Habibul Bashar said, We have done enough in the warm up games to put some pressure on the other teams. Though India is a tough team but our preparation is good. We take what we can do.
Cricket is just not a game of bat and ball, it is an internal struggle. A war between a man and himself. In the next 45 days every individual from this group will like to win this battle first. After that opposition will be merely a convenience. In this case it happens to be Bangladesh.
