Birmingham: England tried to get something out of a rain-affected final day in their final Ashes warm-up match with Ravi Bopara, Paul Collingwood and Matt Prior all making runs against Warwickshire.

It wasn't until after lunch that England, 373 runs ahead at 185 for two, were able to resume their second innings.

England decided on additional batting practice, with Bopara going on to a hundred having been 88 not out overnight.

All-rounder Collingwood and wicket-keeper Prior then weighed in with fifties before England declared on 319 for three at tea.

Collingwood, who missed out in the first innings by scoring just 16, resumed on 21 and went on to an unbeaten 79 while Prior, also searching for time in the middle, made 50 not out.

It meant that of England's likely top seven for next week's first Test against Australia in Cardiff, only Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff had failed to make at least a fifty in this match.
