Bangalore: The England cricket team, which has cut short its One-Day tour due to volatile situation in Mumbai, will fly out to London from Bangalore and will re-group in their country before returning for the two-match Test series ten days from now.

"As a security measure the team will take a connecting flight to London after reaching Bangalore some time in the afternoon and is not expected to come out of the airport as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants the Englishmen to reach their destination without any apprehension," a Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) official, who did not want to be named, told Cricketnext.com on Friday.

“Only handful of the KSCA officials have been informed about the England team’s plans as a security measure and our only concern is to put them and the replacements for the Test matches on the flight back home safely and hope that no untoward incidents takes place,” he added.

Meanwhile, the KSCA office in Bangalore was abuzz with rumors’ that the second Test match between England and India, which was scheduled to be held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, where the two hotels (Taj and Oberoi Trident) are under seize by the terrorists, has been shifted to Bangalore.

However, the KSCA secretary and former Test player Brijesh Patel confirmed that he has not received any information from the BCCI so far about the shift in venue.

The BCCI have narrowed down Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore as alternative venue for the second Test starting on November 19 but the final decision will be taken only in the evening. The first test is scheduled to be held at Ahmedabad in Gujarat from November 11.
