Durban: Delhi Daredevils' stand-in skipper Gautam Gambhir spoke to CNN-IBN after he authored their massive win over the Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.

On leading the Daredevils

"When you are leading the side, it's your responsibility to finish the game when you are in the middle. As we discussed that the two people who are set will finish the game, so it was important for me to lead by example. It was my responsibility to finish it," said Gambhir.

On Virender Sehwag's absence

"If he is there in the side, it makes a huge impact on the side and the opposition as well. But it gives other people the chance to go out their and show their mettle," the southpaw added.

On returning to form

"It is important because I had not got runs in the beginning of the tournament and now all the games are becoming crucial for Delhi. So it was important for me to get back to form and perform for the rest of the tournament," stated Gambhir.

On Daredevils' chances

"It is important to play as an unit. Twenty20 is such an unpredictable format, so it's crucial that you gel as a team. We have been doing well and hopefully, if we have continue in the same way, we have a very good chance this time around," said Gambhir.

On Glenn McGrath sitting out

"It doesn't matter. At the end of the day, you want the best eleven on the field who can contribute and win the game. It doesn't matter who doesn't play. For me, what matters is whoever is playing, contributes and help the team win," he stated.
