New Delhi: Sourav Ganguly will be playing the warm-up game against the West Indies in Jamaca on Friday, despite the injury he sustained during practice on his ankle.
Ganguly injured himself while practising ahead of the last leg of warm-up matches in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where Team India is based.
Team officials later confirmed his injury wasn't a serious one and the southpaw was fit enough to play against Brian Lara's men.
Ganguly will in all probability be opening the innings in the game which will be played at the Trelawny Stadium in Jamaica.
Sachin Tendulkar and S Sreesanth have been rested for the game.
This is India's last hit-out in the middle before they play Bangladesh in their first World Cup match on March 17 in Trinidad.
