Sourav Ganguly is finishing up some sponsor commitments in Kolkata before flying off for the World Cup. And that is where CNN-IBN's Himika Chaudhuri caught up with the former captain to talk about more than just cricket.

Himika Chaudhuri: Sourav Ganguly seems to be spending some quality time with family here in Kolkata, his home town. So we are going to ask him what the break is doing to you before the World Cup?

Sourav Ganguly: I have trained. I have done a bit of fitness work during this break. Not much of cricket work, but a bit of fitness work, I have done two or three deals with sponsors. But it's been a good break because I had been playing non-stop cricket. It will be good to go to West Indies fresh.

Himika Chaudhuri: Are you superstitious by nature Sourav, and are you doing anything before the World Cup, which you always do before a big match?

Sourav Ganguly: No, not really, I'm not superstitious, but if you use a certain thing and you do well with that, you have that confidence with that product. So I just want to continue with it. The cricket bat is very important in a cricketer's career and it's a certain quality of bats that give you confidence, and you tend to keep on using them.

Himika Chaudhuri: (Your daughter) Sona has grown up enough to understand what Papa is doing out there. So is she excited about the fact that you are going to be back on TV more often doing the stuff that you always wanted?

Sourav Ganguly: I don't think she understands the game much, but she is worried about the fact that her dad keeps on going away every second day. But that's the way it is. I have got a few years left and then I will be all with her.

Himika Chaudhuri: And it's been 10 years of marriage, you just celebrated that. So is this a special homecoming after a great series, after a great comeback and then a 10-year celebration? What is (wife) Dona saying?

Sourav Ganguly: Yes she's fine. She's got used to my lifestyle and travelling. I think even she is looking forward to the World Cup.
