Mumbai: Members of the Indian team had a taste of Gujarati food in Colombo on Tuesday.
According to the sources close to the team, a lavish party was thrown by Rajan Udeshi, the chairman of the tour organising committee at his Barnes Place residence in Colombo.
"The vegeterian food including kadhi and bhel was excellant," remarked one of the team members.
The Indian team includes few vegeterian players but Parthiv Patel, being the lone player from Gujarat relished the food much more than other players.
Missing from the party was Paddy Upton, the physical and mental conditioning coach.
India coach Gary Kirsten also missed the party as he was preparing to leave for his Cape Town home where his 64-year-old mother (Gayl Hall) is seriously ill.
The Gujarati Udeshi family has been living in Colombo since the last few years, and even former BCCI secretary Jaywant Lele has high regards for Rajan.
Udeshi had also thrown a lavish private party for a selected set of SLC members a few days ago.
