India's bowling is a big worry: Kiran More

Bangalore: Former chief selector and stumper Kiran More has expressed concern with the Indian bowling ahead of the all important One-Day series against Australia starting in Vadodara from October 25.
"The Indians will be facing a young and super confident (especially after their Champions Trophy win) Aussies led by a captain (Ricky Ponting) who will be very keen to settle the tri-series defeat inflicted on them during India’s last tour to Australia. Even though the host’s batting looks very strong with Viru (Virender Sehwag) and Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) back in the side after injury lay-offs, their bowling without Zaheer Khan is a big worry," Kiran More told Cricketnext.com on Wednesday.
"Indian bowling lacks the sting with Ashish Nehra and Ishant Sharma struggling to regain their forms in Sri Lanka and in the Champions Trophy thereafter. With Munaf (Patel) too making a comeback, after a long lay-off, and spinner Harbhajan Singh looking a shadow of his past, there are mounting concerns in the bowling department," he added.
"I think it will be too cruel to expect youngsters like Ravindra Jadeja, who too is making a come back of sort, and rookie fast bowler Thyagi to come up with match-winning performances straight away.
"To win a One-Day match the pacers will have to take early wickets while the spinners have to wrap-up the innings as quickly as possible. But the present form of Indian bowlers does not indicate such luxury as they are bound to miss their strike bowler Zaheer Khan, who is expected to be fit for the last part of the series," he pointed out.
Stressing that the on-going Champions League has benefited the Australian players (as there are two teams from Oz in the semi-finals) more than the host’s batsmen as not one Indian Premier League (IPL) team could qualify for the last four stage, More said, the six or seven players, including Brett Lee, Nathan Hauritz, Cameron White and David Warner would benefit immensely from playing on Indian wickets.
