CONTINUED I did not write anyhting to draw or corner any atttention.Actually since the last three years I have been receiving all kinds of UNBEARABLE SLANGS if at all I had wriiten anything-anyfacts on the games, wether on the WC Football, or on crickets, etc.It is happenning since the last one and a half year. But somehow when it boiled down to some of my family members I completely lost the cool.I have never pointed my fingers slanderously on anybody here in this blog, and I had lost my cool.Your matter on tennis-though out of the leaque- helped me to get my mood concentrated on something which brought me the booty. Thanks Yaar. For you, I have become richer by a few thousands of rupees, and also could absolutely recoorect myself on a record-a WR on Tennis which stands in the name of the Indians Regards Shyamal Bhattacharjee bangalore

Sir Please stop here..... you are going out of the context. Cant take this anymore..... Agreed that you have a great knowledge about Sports but its still not acceptable or digestible to know that Sachin cant be part of the best Indian team. One Question ? Tell me one player who could win matches for India in the latter nineties ... I still remember people switching of their TV''s the moment Sachin got out while chasing any score more than 230 or 240..... our team was a one man army....

CONTINUED I would personally thank you Mr tandon, to have drawn my attention to this score of Tennis where that 99 games was played. After reading your comment on the blog related to Tennis, though this is a cricket BLOG, I mmediately fell back after this match, and it took me several hours of research to collect and get the score UPRIGHT and in a CORECT MANNER. I was trying to get the score correctly as I had a bet placed with one of my friend here at Bangalore who is a TENNIS fan, and I would like to thank you for helping me with this bet.I,m richer by a few thousand of Rupees If you had not written that comments on tennis, believe me I would not have won the bet CONTD

CONTINUED Even today in any tournaments played in TENNIS, the countings of the points are done by the referrees manually, and the other things like wiping the court, brushing them watering them etc are done manually.Technology I have not seen anything except the change in the form of RACQUET

Continuation The racquets in a new shape came into the picturein 1990, and in 1991 it was the Graphite racquets that came into the play. This racquets were used to especially kkep the rallies under control beside to gain the advantage of superspeed during the serves at times. the speed that is generated in serves by the Graphite racquets were higher than the wooden racquets beside the strokes executed were powerful so that the rallies got chopped off at times This was the power that the racquet could produce. It was the human strength of the players and the powers genertaed out of the material graphite. There was no technology used to curtail or curb anything on the game. It was a change in the equipment and not an introduction of any technology Contd

CONTINUED In 1976 the ITF took a serious note about it.The tie-breakers were still there but the rallies were prolonging the games and the suferers were the organisers. They had to bear the expenses. It was at this stage that the ITF took a serious note of thinking about bringing a change in the tournament by adopting some methods which would cushion the games and would help it to finish it in time. The idea was mooted to change the racquets in some from that the games specially the rallies gets over soon. The Umpires too after the Gonzales-pasarella match in 1968 had suggested that the game may be controleed in a way so that they did not have to move their neck for such long and huge rallies, especially when the game dragged too long CONTINUED

CONTINUED THIS IS A WORLD RECORD WHICH STILL STANDS IN THE DOUBLES IN ANY TOURNAMENT OF TENNIS.THIS IS THE LONGEST MATCH IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF TENNIS. It did not stop here.In the semis against Russia which was played at Pune, once again the Amritraj Brothers were engaged in a very strong duel in the Doubles against Boris Koratov and Alex Metreveli. The indians won it in four sets, but there were two sets which was decided by a score 0f 11-9, and 18-16 both in favour of India. Earlier against australia, not only in the doubles, in the singles too Vijay playing against John alexander had played two sets where the score for one of then was 16-14, and the other was 12-10, Vijay had lost that singles by 1-3 sets to John Alexander, and here the indians against russia had won the doubles. We went on to rach the CHALLENGE ROUND but forfieted the match against South Africa and had to satisfy by being the runners-up in the davis Cup. These were the incident which the ITF took it on seriously CONTINUED

Any Tom, Dick and Harry or Trevor can get instant stardom by throwing stones at Sachin Tendulkar and this writer is doing the same to get some cheap publicity! But he would do well to remmember how much muck and eggs Sachin-haters and blind critics like Chappels, Kapil and Amarnath and others got from the bat of Sachin and even with ball in hand and then these nobodies will prove to the world that they are no-bodies!
