Mumbai: With India's Test captain Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid becoming the honorary life-members at MCC, they are entitled to enter Lord’s and its Pavilion for every single match day of the season.
While describing the benefits of the honorary life-members, this was revealed by Neil Priscott, the MCC official.
Speaking from London, he said, "Honorary Life Members of MCC do not pay any subscriptions and have full MCC Member rights. In addition, they have full voting rights at all Annual General Meetings, which would include voting on all Laws-related issues, MCC is the guardian of the Laws of Cricket," he further added.
"Constitutionally the main MCC Committee can elect anyone for Honorary Life Membership, generally speaking however the yardstick for consideration is a minimum of 50 Test match appearances," he further added.
"MCC’s Cricket Committee will recommend people for Honorary Life Membership; ultimately it is the full MCC Committee which will elect these Members.
"There are 294 Honorary Life Members of MCC, and 11 Honorary life vice-presidents. These are a mixture of past Test cricketers (the vast majority have retired) and administrators. (For background information, there are 18,000 full Members of MCC)," he signed off.
