New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Wednesday congratulated the Indian cricket team on their win in the second Test against England.
In a letter addressed to India's acting High Commissioner in Britain Asoke Mukherjee, Chatterjee lauded the team effort in securing the "magnificent victory" but singled out left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan for special praise.
"It is indeed the success of the whole team but Zaheer Khan deserves the fullest praise." I extend my best wishes to the captain and his team for more success in the rest of the matches."
India won the second Test at Trent Bridge on Tuesday by seven wickets and lead the three-match series 1-0 after the first Test at Lord's ended in a draw.
The third match of the series will be played at the Oval from August 9.
