PCB scraps junior team's tour of Bangladesh

Islamabad: Pakistan has cancelled a planned tour by its junior team to Bangladesh on security grounds, the Pakistan Cricket Board said on Thursday.

"PCB has conveyed to Bangladesh Cricket Board that it will not be sending Pakistan under-19 team for a tour in October to that country due to security reasons," the PCB said in a media release. The PCB would not specify the nature of the security concerns.

In March, Bangladesh refused to host Pakistan for an one-day series as it was unable to guarantee safety after a mutiny by Bangladesh border guards that left at least 70 people dead, mostly army officers.

Pakistan too has been subject to boycotts and cancellations due to ongoing security problems in its own country.
