Plenty for India to be concerned about

Bangalore: The One-Day series between India and Australia got off to an inauspicious start with the rain playing spoilsport in Bangalore but as Digvijay Sngh Deo now reports, there was plenty on show for the teams to ponder over.
"There is a difference between courage and stupidity," Dhoni said in the post-match press conference.
The India captain had absolutely no doubt that his players weren't stepping back onto the field once the rain fell down at Bangalore and ravaged the outfield, his Aussie counterpart though had a contrasting view; given an opportunity his team would have tried to finish the game.
"I was keen to play. That was what the discussion was about. I was happy taking my team to the field," said Adam Gilchrist who is the stand-in captain with Ricky Ponting on the side-lines due to an injury.
Even though it ended in a damp squib, there was plenty for India to be concerned about heading into the next game despite having Australia at 90 for 4; they leaked runs, allowing the world champions to get past 300.
"Our bowlers struggle when ball doesn't swing, especially with the white Kookabura ball, it just does a bit in the initial 10-14 overs. That’s one area we have to work upon,” said Dhoni.
Australia though head to kochi with some of their concerns settled, the middle order looked brittle at the Twenty20 World Cup but with his innings at Bangalore, Michael Clarke has restored the faith, he made 130 at a run a ball at the same venue he got a debut test hundred in 2004.
"I think for me spending some time in the middle was fantastic. I didn’t get much of a chance in the Twenty20 tournament because the boys up the order did such a fantastic job," said Clarke.
It was a beautiful batting track but Team India would be worried with its frontline bowlers going for big runs. By posting 307, Australia have backed their word with action. India will have to respond in Kochi.
