Kingston/ London: The death of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer is taking a new twist every day.

There have been murmurs in the West Indies that the first post-mortem report that concluded that Woolmer was murdered is incorrect and that he actually died of natural causes.

Jamaican Police are keen to dismiss any such speculation and according to The Times may order a new post mortem.

But for the time being they have let the Pakistani cricket team return home.

An Australian newspaper quoted Deputy Commissioner of Jamaican police Mark Shields, who is heading the Woolmer investigation, on Monday as saying that the Pakistani team were no longer suspects.

However, on Tuesday Shields insisted that his comments were misinterpreted.

"Media has to understand what is being said. You can't hold somebody in your country against their will if you don't have sufficient information," Shields said.

While Shields wasn't handing out a clean chit, the Pakistani diplomats in Jamaica are clear that no player from their team is under suspicion.

None of the Pakistani players was suspected or detained. They cooperated with the investigation and then left the country," Zahid Haffez Choudhary, First Secretary Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, said.

Pakistan team's trainer Murray Stevenson has already left for South Africa and so has Asad Mustafa who is the team's operations manager, which clearly indicates that there is still a long way to go into the Woolmer murder investigation.

More members of the Pakistan cricket team left home from London on Tuesday. But there is still speculation over the relationship between the team and three Pakistan fans that the police are said to be looking for in connection with the murder.

Pakistani team media manager Pervez Mir admitted the men were known to the team but dismissed suggestions that they could be involved in killing Woolmer.

"Of the three Pakistanis I know one of them very well. He is a former cricketer and he came after Woolmer's death to watch the Zimbabwe match. He is my friend and left after the match. I know Jamaica Police would like to question him," Pervez Mir said

The Jamaica Police have also confirmed that no evidence of match-fixing or betting has been found from Woolmer's laptop.

Meanwhile, according to News24 (A South African news portal), Mark Shields has been in touch with the South African police about what are being described as " big developments" there relating to Woolmer's wife Gill.

Shields apparently told News24 that she was the last person to have spoken to Woolmer before the he was killed.

It is also being reported that some information regarding the murder are so sensitive that the investigation team are refusing to divulge it.
