Chittagong: Bangladesh went on cyclone alert on Monday as officials warned the storm in the Bay of Bengal could trigger a tidal surge six feet (1.8 metres) high.
The storm is currently some 500 km (300 miles) from Chittagong port and is expected to make landfall on Tuesday, meteorologists said.
On Monday, heavy rains prevented practice ahead of the third and final ODI between India and Bangladesh in Chittagong.
Players were confined to their hotel rooms because of the rain, caused by a storm brewing in the Bay of Bengal. The downpour created puddles in Shaheed Ruhul Amin Stadium, the venue for the match.
India won the first two matches.
''We will try to make it 3-0. We have come here to play good cricket,'' Indian skipper Rahul Dravid told reporters about the final One-Dayer, scheduled for Tuesday.
Dravid said his players were disappointed to have missed crucial practice because of the rain.
"It's frustrating. We still hope that the rain will stop and we will have a good match," Dravid said.
Dravid said his team will make a few changes for the final One-Dayer.
Pacer Zaheer Khan will be rested for Tuesday's game, while batsman Dinesh Mongia will be replaced by Robin Uthappa.
Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar has more worries than the rain.
Top-order batsman Mohammad Ashraful is already out of the match because of high fever. Middle-order batsman Farhad Reza and spinner Abdur Razzak are also in doubt because of fever.
"We have been hit by illness. It has delayed final selection of our team," Bashar said. "We are, however, ready to play."
