Remaining tri-series games to start early

Kuala Lumpur: All remaining matches of the DLF Cup tri-series in Kuala Lumpur will now start an hour before schedule, to avoid rain delays during the evenings as much as possible, Malaysia Cricket Association said on Sunday.

The last two matches of the tournament ended abruptly as rains lashed the Kinrara Oval during the later half of the evening. Both matches involved India.

The Indian team on the other hand, took the day off after the abandoned game against Australia from training to introspect on what went wrong during the five-wicket fiasco on Saturday, and also to plan for their next game against West Indies on Wednesday.

The Indians are also slated to attend a reception hosted by the Indian High Commission on Sunday evening. India had done well to rein in a rampaging Australia to 244 in 49.2 overs on Saturday before losing the plot completely amid the rain interruptions.

Rookie Australian paceman Mitchell Johnson picked four wickets in eight balls to reduce India to 35 for 5 in eight overs before the rain gods came to the team's rescue. Both the teams were awarded two points each as there are no reserve days in this day-night competition.
