New Delhi: Team India's Mumbai lads Sachin Tendulkar, Wasim Jaffer and Zaheer Khan will turn up for their Ranji team during the last round of the elite competition after the team returns from its South Africa tour.
The trio will feature from Mumbai's sixth Elite Group B match against Maharashtra starting January 9, after their arrival in India on January 7. Their participation was confirmed by Mumbai Cricket Association's treasurer and BCCI's chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Shetty was given confirmation by chairman of selectors Dilip Vengsarkar, who is accompanying the Indian team in South Africa. Vengsarkar spoke to the three players who approved of their participation.
Mumbai haven't had a good start to their Ranji season so far, not managing a single point out of their earlier games. Even Ajit Agarkar will feature in the struggling Mumbai side.
Agarkar will play for the side from their fifth game against Rajasthan from January 2, for which the three Indian players will not be available as the third Test against South Africa gets underway on the same day.
Zaheer Khan returned to the Mumbai side after a fallout with his previous team Baroda's cricket administrators earlier this year. He though started his domestic career with Mumbai.
