New Delhi: The Services have apologised to the BCCI for forfeiting the Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir, and have asked for fresh dates to play the game in Srinagar.
However, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association chief Farooq Abdullah was not happy with an apology.
"An apology is not enough. Kashmir is angry and we want action against the Services cricket team," said Adullah, an Union Minister and former Chief Minister of the state.
"They made a heavy damage to the whole sporting fraternity and to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Now let them pay the price of it," he added.
"Who advised the Services team to avoid the Srinagar Ranji match over security concerns," asked a livid Abdullah who said he would take up the issue with both the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister.
The BCCI has disqualified the Services team from the 2009-10 Ranji Trophy on Tuesday.
"The SSCB forfeited the match, having expressed its inability to send its cricket team to Srinagar," the BCCI said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
