New Delhi: The fifth one-dayer in Hyderabad will offer Sachin Tendulkar yet another opportunity to reach the 17 thousand-run mark in one-day cricket.
Sachin, seen here being adjudged LBW in the fourth One-dayer at Mohali for 40 off the bowling of Nathan Hauritz, missed that milestone by just seven runs. Sachin looking quite disappointed after that in the dressing room.
TV replays showed the ball was missing the leg stump but umpire Ashoka De Silva thought otherwise and raised his finger, much to the dismay of the packed crowd.
Sachin has not been in the best of forms in this series and has scored just 90 runs in the series so far. Clearly, apart from reaching the milestone, Sachin would be desperate to end his dismal run so far in the series.
The master batsman has got 16993 runs in 434 matches to his credit, followed by Sanath Jayasuriya with 13377 runs in 441 matches. Australia captain Ricky Ponting is placed at third with 12241 runs in 328 matches at an average of 43.25.
Inzamam Ul Haq and Sourav Ganguly on the fourth and the fifth spot in the list of leading run scorers in One-dayers.
