Mohali: While it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni's second Test win as skipper, it was the first for the new Chairman of Selectors -- Krishnamachari Srikkanth, who spoke to Nishant Arora after India took the series lead.

CNN-IBN: You seem to be an lucky mascot for India.

Krish Srikkanth: Not at all. I think the team is doing brilliantly. I think you have to give a lot of credit to the team. They are batting very well, bowling very well and this victory is a superb victory because beating Australians by 300 plus runs is no joke. And beating them convincingly on a track, which was totally good for batting. Our bowlers did an excellent job.

I think it is an all-round display and every batsman got runs. What I liked was that the wicket was not assisting the medium-pacers yet Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan bowled their heart out and got those crucial wickets. Harbhajan got those crucial wickets in the second innings and Amit Mishra did his job in the first innings. I think if we look at it, it was a total team effort and that is what I am so happy about.

CNN-IBN: Do you think this victory has settled the debate for a while that what should be the composition of the side? Whether to have seniors players or youngsters? Eventually it tells that you should have good players and they should be picked.

Krish Srikkanth:Yes, at the end of the day it shows that age is no criterion. The most important thing is if you are good then age is no bar. And that is something Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag all have proved. If you are good to play for India, then you should play for India.

CNN-IBN: And now you have problem of plenty -- Amit Mishta taking wickets and Anil Kumble fit to come back into the side? Is it a good problem to have?

Krish Srikkanth:I think everybody knows in cricket what to do and what not to do. Team management also knows what to do and it is a good problem to have. And I have always believed that when you have a healthy competition, you get the best out of the cricketers.
