Tendulkar's wife Anjali told CNN-IBN that he would have told her if he was planning to quit ODIs. He has been plagued by injuries for the past few years and at the Oval, too, he suffered from cramps. Read The Article

more chiranjit sachin should retire at 50. ( Posted: Thursday , October 18, 2007 at 23:16 )
more Praveen I think sachin shouldn''t retire immediately. He should be selective about the ODIs,he should play in only important series or tournaments.Even in tests,he should play only against better test playing nations. That way,i think he can prolong his career & guide youngsters in the team.Playing along with legends like Sachin,Rahul & Saurav will boost the morale of the youngsters in the team & help them become better players. Pradeep Great Sachin should not retire from ODI in this juncture. We want to see him upto 2011 worldcup.
India should win World Cup with this genius. That will be an absolute tribute to this man. A perfect climax to his career. Pl Sachin .... be selective on ODI. We are here for u. Dont care about stupid former cricketers make ubrupt noises beacuse they are jealous on u ... ( Posted: Friday , September 07, 2007 at 10:35 )
Sirish I am not bothered about Sachin or Sourav or Dravid, I just want to ask this one to everybody who are posting comments on this section, are all you people master''s in your profession? ( Posted: Friday , September 07, 2007 at 10:27 )
umesh kelkar i think to prolong his cricket playing years he should retire from ODI as soon as possible so we can see him in test cricket till 40 ( Posted: Friday , September 07, 2007 at 03:53 )
Raja
Secondly he does try to be positive but as soon as oppostion team comes and hits him hard, his deep inside nature starts surfacing, he gets defensive, not positive, not aggressive and in many instances Darpok! Biggest eg. of that is his attitude & how he approached the final test in test series. Even after scoring 650 runs, dravid wanted to play the last test - Not To Lose. He should have played - To Win.
Does make you miss Ganguly as captain (I know towards end of his capntaincy period ganguly was not playing good at all, but when he was on top he was aggressive, he did take the attack to the opposition & you did see that killer instinct in him. Hence you miss him).

Back to dravid, sure he has been one of the best batsmen india has ever produced. No doubt in top 3. And especially thats why it leaves you dry and high wondering with sooo much talent & with so much experience, and especially against a much less experienced side.....

Is it that we lack hunger to Win which teams like Australia have in abundance or we are just not willing to pay the price for it???

more Raja Thats - 100% Right! Ravi Shastri on the eve of 6th One day at Oval said "If India had batted first after Dravid winning consecutive tosses, they would have already won the series by now. Back you strengths & dont expose your weaknesses".
Dravid (Experts have noticed on several occasions) tries to take these extremely genius decesions. Whereby he puts us in tough situations. What everyone could see and is common sense, really surprises you why dravid cant on occasions. And then he totally defends his wrong decisions (arey bhai galti hui he maan lo). He talks to media people (who are asking him questions after we have lost), as if he is the only one who knows about cricket and no one else has any idea. You dont need to be a cricketer to know about it, just like you dont need to be a movie maker to know good cinema from bad or be a politician to understand deeply about politics.

kumar My take--- the decision rests on him and how he feels about his fitness and other factors-- who are we to decide when he should retire.. one thing don''t wait until it gets too late like Brian Lara. In his case he did it because he found out that he was not selected for the test series in England. don''t see Indian cricket board doing that but still retire on a high is my take--- well done Sachin you are the boss of cricket!!!!! Anoop When he had slump in form every one says he should retire. Now he is in his vintage form, they are saying he should retire now.Whats going on??? Are you people have any mental problems?? No one india have the right to comment on when sachin should retire becoz of the way you humilated him after the WC07 debacle. The little man has admitted in an interview to The Times that 1995-2004 as his best years and that he had to make adjustments

in his grip in the aftermath of the tennis elbow that needed a surgical correction. During that transition his batting suffered somewhat and that was the time when the media wrote finish to his cricket career.

Where all you sachin haters were hiding when the little master regains his form in Ireland tour? Now you are showing your faces when some media reports says its time for him to retire.

Sachin knows when to retire, its not the media or some Ian chappels decision.
