New Delhi: Bengal's Manoj Tiwary, who was selected for his maiden One-Day series against Bangladesh will miss the entire series after suffering a shoulder injury.

Tiwary injured his shoulder during the team's practice session on Tuesday while diving full length during a fielding drill.

"Tiwary was sent for MRI scan and X-rays. These results were reviewed by an orthopaedic specialist and he has been advised rest in sling for three-five days and refrain from activity," BCCI said on the injury report sent by physio John Gloster from Dhaka.

"The overall condition of the shoulder once symptoms have subsided in 5-7 days will be reviewed and reassessed. After this an overall plan and time frame can be fully ascertained," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said in the release.

"Regarding replacement if needed, Dilip Vengsarkar Chairman Senior Selection Committee, once he reach Dhaka, he will consult team management and further decision will be taken," it said.

Tiwary was attended to immediately by physio John Gloster and was given ice treatement. Skipper Rahul Dravid said the injury wasn't serious.

Tiwary is on his first tour with the Indian team.

"He got injured while pactising but it is not a serious injury," Dravid had said earlier, but later reports ruled the rookie out of the three-ODI series.

Earlier, in the conditioning camp back home Sachin Tendulkar had twisted his ankle while Dravid was hit on his nose by a Rudra Pratap Singh bouncer.

The Indians are scheduled to play the first of the three One-Dayers on Thursday followed by two other matches on May 12 and 15. The two-match Test series will begin at Chittagong from May 18.
