Bangalore: Fast bowler Zaheer Khan, who won the man-of-the-match award for his all-round performance in the drawn first Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, said the pressure is now on the Aussies to do well for the rest of the series and doubted that their bowlers could take 20 wickets to win a match.

"Aussies talk big about scoring four runs per over in a Test match but they could not do so here. They could not get me and Bhajji out in the first innings till we put on 80 runs. Their spinners could not do anything on the fifth day track and even their fast bowlers struggled throughout this match," Zaheer told reporters at a joint press conference with his skipper Anil Kumble here on Monday.

The fast bowler earlier told Ravi Shastri at the post match presentation that this was the most defensive Australian side he had come across.

"We are with a big chance of winning the series as the pressure is on the Aussies to take 20 wickets," he added.

Agreeing that the bowlers would be targetting Matthew Hayden as he was the best player of spin bowling in the Aussie side, Zaheer said he would continue to unsettle him for the rest of the series.

"We are working to get Hayden out early. It is our aim to get him early as he plays spin bowling very well and once he settles down he could be very dangerous," he said.

When asked about the conflict with Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin on the third day of the match, Zaheer brushed it aside as one of those on-field tactics of the Aussies which should not be taken seriously.

"We all know the Aussie way of playing cricket. It was just one of those on-field tactics they use to unsettle the opposition. It happens sometimes and I think we have given them a fitting reply by frustrating them for most part of the match," he said.
