South Africa beat England by 10 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Trailing by 319 runs, England managed to score just 8 runs more to set South Africa a target of 9 runs. Broad and Pattinson put on a 50 run stand for the final wicket but that could not avoid the inevitable. Smith and McKenzie came out to chase and finished off the match in just 7 balls.
