Australia has again posted a huge total of 290 runs on the board off their 50 overs. Gilchrist and Hayden got their team off to a flier as they put on 76 runs opening stand. Irfan Pathan then strucked to send both the openers back to the pavilion. Indian bowlers then kept things tight in the middle overs and didn't let Australia score freely. Michael Clarke and Symonds consolidated the Australian innings as they added a quick-fire century runs stand for fourth wicket. Symonds was in a destructive mood as he played a dynamic knock of 89 runs off just 67 balls. Michael Clarke scored 59 while Hayden played a good innings of 60 runs in the top order. Harbhajan was the pick of the bowlers as he was tidy in his ten over but was unable to pick up a wicket. Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan and Sreesanth scalped two wickets each. After their convincing win at Kochi, the World Cup champions must be looking forward to continue their winning momentum today. The Australian team will be more strengthened as Ricky Ponting and Nathan Bracken are all set to return in today's game. Australia has been losing quick wickets very early in their innings in this series so far and that would be the only worry for them. But a strong middle order batting line up is definitely a plus point for Australia. Meanwhile, India who were outplayed in the second ODI has lots of worry as their star-studded batting line up put a lack luster display at Kochi. Sourav Ganguly is likely to return today after his hamstring injury and it will be interesting to see who he will replace in the team. Apart from cricketing action, there was also plenty of verbal action between the two sides at Kochi and one can expect the same heat even today.
