Should the second season of the IPL be postponed or cancelled?

After India's Home Minister urged the BCCI to postpone the IPL due to security reasons, do you think the mega event should be moved back or cancelled?

I fully agree that IPL should be postponed and should be held after the elections. As a lot of international events are going to held in India in next couple of years and it is not wise to take security lightly. Even a failed attack in any city would trigger the debate and India could be bared to host any event in near future like World Cup and Common Wealth games. Its not only the security about the players, who will gurantee the security of fans, who comes to watch the matches....If IPL held during elections time, i can see matches beign played in empty stadiums....So think wisely and postpone it at least the new government forms....

you are right.... it should be postponed keeping in mind that the loksabha elections will be held in may and that is the most important thing for the country as the result of that depends on next 5 year developments. the elections should be given top priority and they they should provide security so that election are held free and fair...

I dont think that IPL-2 should be Cancelled or Postponed for simply because it would be platform to prove the world that India is safer place than other Sub Continent Country.IPL should be commenced as per the Revised shedule as to just show the Terririost and other elements that nothing can stop from moving.

Actually the IPL itself should be banned for ever. It is disgusting to see cricket in this form. IPL is nothing but a Cricket Circus and players look no less than clowns.

First of all we are having enough security forces in the form of Millitary, Paramilliatary, Police & Commandos. Postponed of IPL means that we put your knee down against the terrorism. We need to give a huge slap on the face or terror.

IPL should be postponed to accomodate the Indian General Elections. I strongly support this argument considering the ground conditions. I don't realy understand why there is so much of fuss about this. If Home Minister thinks as per his judgement, IPL should be re-scheduled to accomodate general elections in view of security concerns, what is the problem in accepting it. I am of the opinion that the people, the media who are creating these arguments are immature. I have seen the recently published article in Indian Express by Tavleen Singh. It is so immature and rubbish. If Indians want the government to protect every citizen, then you should have atleast half of Indian population sitting in the Indian Army. Then major portion of every citizens earnings will have to be paid towards taxes to feed the army. Let us be practical guys, do not be stupid. These bolsterous media, people who keep talking nonsense are no better than those people across the border who keep dreamimg of beating India in a war. When will we realise the ground situation as it stands. I think it is high time people and the media in India show some maturity.

India has not proven to be so safe for cricket as well. India will have a lot of trouble taking care of the security of over 100 foreign players in different cities with elections on and the very large crowd during matches will make this even tougher.
